Quality Manager
We are supporting a leading advanced manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Quality Manager. This is a senior position within the Quality function, acting as second-in-command and supporting the delivery of quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, influence site-wide quality performance, and play a key part in maintaining industry-leading standards, as well as clear defined progression.
Responsibilities
Support the Quality team in maintaining compliance with AS9100, NADCAP and customer-specific requirements
Manage and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring documentation and processes remain robust and compliant
Lead internal audits and support external audits from customers, regulatory bodies and accreditation organisations
Ensure effective root cause analysis and close-out of audit findings and non-conformances
Oversee product and process quality, including inspection activities, non-conformance management and concessions
Lead, develop and manage a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians
Support customer and supplier quality activities, including audits, approvals and performance management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, scrap reduction and process capability
Promote a strong quality and continuous improvement culture across the site
Key Requirements
Degree qualified in Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience within aerospace, automotive or defence manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of AS9100 or IATF 16949 requirements
NADCAP knowledge is highly desirable
Experience managing and developing a Quality team
Background in auditing and quality compliance (internal auditor certification desirable)
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in structured root cause analysis
Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
Experience with APQP, PPAP and SPC methodologies (desirable)
