Joining the Executive Support Team at Gloucestershire County Council offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of driving positive change within the community. As part of our team you will play an instrumental role in supporting Senior Leaders, ensuring they have the resources and assistance needed to make impactful decisions that shape the future of our county. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth, providing a dynamic environment where your skills and contributions are valued and recognized.

As an Executive Support Assistant at Gloucestershire County Council you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive administrative support to Senior Leaders and their teams. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing documents and handling correspondence. Your keen attention to detail and organisational skills will ensure that all administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands will be essential in meeting deadlines and addressing urgent requests effectively. Moreover, your role will require you to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost care and integrity.

As part of the Executive Support team you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of Gloucestershire County Council. Your role will be dynamic and fast‑paced, offering opportunities for growth and development.

You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all issues involving Senior Managers in order to provide comprehensive proactive integrated support to efficiently manage the Managers' expectations and requirements.

We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire’s diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential.

It is a legal requirement under the Immigration Act 2016 that anyone appointed to a customer‑facing role must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English. Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice with a mix of both remote and office working.

Are you looking for a new challenge within an ever‑changing and fast‑paced environment? Do you want to work in an inclusive, friendly and supportive team which is at the heart of the Council? Successful candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills; be organised and efficient, as well as being diplomatic; able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters with the utmost trust. Communicating effectively and proactively managing a diverse and varied workload, you will need to meet tight internal and external deadlines whilst juggling priorities in a flexible and adaptable way.
