We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an Electrical Contracts Engineer based in, but not restricted to Solihull.
Working as part of the M &E team you will contribute to the effective delivery of a wide range of business-critical functions. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Electrical Contracts Engineer will supervise all aspects of Electrical Maintenance and Minor works including Projects to a multi-site estate spread throughout the West Midlands. This includes Planned and Reactive Electrical Works including sub-contractors.

The Electrical Contracts Engineer will:
Ensure service delivery is of the highest level and meets and exceeds the contract SLAs/KPl's Assist with providing quotations for minor and project works Manage a team of electricians and planning their workload to maximise efficiency Ensure that all planned and reactive repairs are completed on time and to the highest quality Manage through to completion minor works via a mixture of supply chain partners and direct staff Ensure contractual obligation and comply with the Company's rules and procedures when working on our clients premises Liaise with the Helpdesk service and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the information contained within (a full time Helpdesk Administrator will provide support) Organise and arrange the delivery of parts and managing an appropriate level of stock Integrate into the Clients Estates Team and provide technical advice and assistance to the Client and always adopt a can-do attitude Monitor your own team and sub-contractors by carrying out audits on work completed and instigating corrective action if required Support the business by effective communication, promoting efficiency and innovation Support the organisation of the call out rota and be point of escalation for out of hours work and emergencies Manage the asset management system.
The successful candidate will communicate daily with the Contracts Manager and both internal and external clients and of varying levels of seniority. The ability to communicate clearly and appropriately both written and verbally is essential.
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the Electrical Contracts Engineer and the range of duties to be undertaken. About You
Essential Criteria:
1.Demonstrate relevant previous experience in Managing and supervising an Electrical team on Minor Works and projects across a varied estate. 2.Have a track record in delivering electrical installs and projects. 3.Demonstrate a strong knowledge of all Electrical Services with previous experience and/or qualifications 4.Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of statutory compliance and site safety. 5.Excellent communicator with the ability to integrate into the Clients Estates Team and leadership skills 6.Sound commercial and administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy and timeliness of submission of information. 7.Experience in planning workload and labour resource across the team and with Subcontractors 8.Sound administration and IT skills with demonstrable proficient use of the full Microsoft package to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project 9.Full current UK drivers licence 10.Ability to successfully complete enhanced DBS certificate 11.All relevant up to date certification, City and guilds qualifications level 1 and 2 diploma,18th Edition, 2391 Inspection and testing etc. 12.Understanding Electrical Schematic drawings and blueprints. 13.Should have an in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components and their functions. 14.Trouble-shoot electrical problems and identify solutions. 15.Stay updated with the latest Electrical regulations.

1.Third Level Qualification or Relevant Management Experience 2.Experience in using Facilities Management Software 3.SMSTS Site Managers safety training Scheme 4.Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of statutory Electrical compliance 5.Have a clear understanding of the commercial requirements within a maintenance environment 6.Understands the local Facilities Management and Maintenance Market - Can identify local supply chain partners utilising best practice for quality and cost.
