Somerset Cricket Foundation (SCF) is an independent charitable trust dedicated to making cricket accessible, available, and enjoyable for people throughout Somerset. As the premier County Cricket Board in the county, SCF is responsible for all ECB programmes in the region and works closely with a wide network of clubs, volunteers, and community partners to grow and diversify the game.

Head of Income Generation
Hours & Contract: Full Time, 37 hours per week, permanent
Location: Somerset Cricket Foundation Offices, Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton
Purpose
The Head of Income Generation provides strategic leadership to grow and diversify SCF’s income streams, with a focus on high‑value fundraising and strengthening community engagement and grassroots public fundraising activities. The role sits within the Senior Leadership Team and is central to delivering our new strategy built around the following pillars:
* Clubs, Leagues and Facilities – supporting clubs and leagues to grow and thrive
* Healthy Communities – using physical activity and cricket to create opportunities for positive social change
* Education – ensuring children and young people have access to high‑quality opportunities to participate in cricket
* Women & Girls – delivering equity for women and girls to play by providing exciting opportunities for clubs to thrive
* Governance & Leadership – striving to be the leading sports charity that delivers outstanding outcomes for all
Main Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership – lead the development and implementation of a multi‑channel income generation strategy, prioritise growth in high‑value income streams, embed a support‑centric culture, contribute to strategic direction, and report to the Managing Director and Board.
* Philanthropy and Partnerships – lead on philanthropic income development, build a sustainable pipeline of high‑value supporters and partnerships, and personally cultivate and manage a portfolio of senior level relationships.
* Public Fund Raising and Community Engagement – develop and grow innovative public fundraising, including individual giving, legacy pipelines, community fundraising, challenge events, and partnership activity.
* Financial and Operational Management – set and manage budgets, monitor performance using data and insight, and drive continuous improvement.
* External Engagement and Representation – act as a senior ambassador for SCF, build and maintain relationships with sector peers, and monitor external trends to inform strategy.
* Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – ensure equality, diversity and inclusion are woven into all income generation work.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven senior leadership track record in income generation, with significant success in philanthropy and at least one of corporate partnership, trusts/foundations, or legacies.
* Strong public fundraising experience, with an understanding of community fundraising, events, and individual giving strategies.
* Track record of delivering and exceeding income targets across diverse income streams.
* Experience of leading strategy development, managing significant budgets, and reporting at Board level.
* Knowledge of fundraising regulation, GDPR, and ethical fundraising practices.
* Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and a data‑lit sense of performance.
* Skilled relationship builder, confident engaging with major donors, corporate partners, volunteers, and stakeholders.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, building high‑performing inclusive teams.
* Data literate, interpreting data to drive fundraising strategy and performance.
* Excellent internal and external communication, influencing and presentation skills.
* Collaborative operating style with senior leadership team.
Terms of Employment
Pension Contributions: automatically enrolled into our Group Personal Pension Plan after three months.
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 public bank holidays.
Additional Benefits: membership to Somerset County Cricket Club and 2 tickets per game at the Cooper Associates County Ground; flexible hybrid working (3 days office‑based).
