The Opportunity…

The UK Sports Institute have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to work as part of our new Paralympic Specialist Services provision.

Location & Contract: Please note that this role is comprised of a 0.6 FTE (22.15 hours per week) permanent position and 0.4 FTE (14.45 hours per week) fixed term (maternity cover) position. While predominantly based in Sheffield, this role will require travel within the North region e.g. Manchester (0.5 days per week but flexibility may be required based on service need).

A snapshot of the role…

This role is part of the newly formed UKSI Paralympic Specialist Service. It offers an exciting opportunity to join a team of specialist multi-disciplinary practitioners working collaboratively to support Paralympic World Class Programmes (WCP). This role will work predominantly with the GB Para Badminton WCP as a Named Lead Physiotherapist (maternity cover) and will also provide support to other Paralympic WCPs in Sheffield (GB Para Table Tennis) and the North Region (GB Wheelchair Basketball).

This role will provide specialised physiotherapy support services to Paralympic WCP athletes contributing to positive performance impact. The post holder will work collaboratively within and across interdisciplinary support teams and coaching teams to optimise athlete health and maximise availability for performance.

This role may require attendance at National and international camps and competitions with potential for approximately 21 days/year of international travel.
