Our Client is a leading global supplier in the aerospace sector, based in Derbyshire/Midlands.
Overview They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Leader, who will hold a strategic position, responsible for; developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental management systems. This role focuses on fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert advisory services on HSE matters.
Responsibilities | Leadership
Collaborate with leadership to demonstrate strong HSE commitment.
Ensure effective implementation and operation of HSE processes.
Engage with staff at all levels to promote HSE best practices.
Responsibilities | Policy Development & Compliance
Create and update policies, procedures, and guidance notes aligned with legislation and industry standards.
Advise on legal requirements, safety directives, and environmental policies.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Responsibilities | Risk Management & Incident Investigation:
Perform risk assessments, including COSHH, and recommend mitigation actions.
Implement immediate and long-term risk reduction measures.
Manage accident investigations, claims, and root cause analyses.
Responsibilities | Training & Records Management:
Design and deliver in-house HSE training programmes.
Maintain comprehensive HSE records, including incident statistics and audit reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in a health & safety management role within a similar industry setting.
Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and standards.
NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health & Safety Practice.
Environmental qualification preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with root cause analysis expertise.
Demonstrable expertise in report writing, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Right-To-Work in the U.K. with no restrictions.
Stakeholder Engagement
Effective liaison with employees, management, and external organisations.
Strong presentation and motivational skills to engage key stakeholders.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel required to support HSE activities across sites.
