About This Role

The Audible Books Content Acquisitions Team owns the full cycle business relationships and new deal generation for our audiobooks programme as well as for literary Audible Originals. As a member of the team you will help execute our acquisition strategy for audio rights with authors, agents, publishers, and recognised IP brands. You will independently negotiate a high volume of complex agreements, and build strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders that will impact Audible’s overall business. You also will be responsible for special projects that will help contribute to our strategic goals.

About You

You are a deep expert in the UK book and audio publishing world with strong relationships across British literary agencies, publishers, and independent authors. You understand regional audience preferences and the nuances of the UK marketplace, from navigating relationships with rights holders to identifying content with strong performance potential across territories. You are a sophisticated negotiator and a high‑volume dealmaker, who combines relationship‑driven dealmaking with data‑informed decision‑making, leveraging analytics to optimise deal structures and identify high‑potential content.

As a Director, Audible Books Acquisitions (UK), you will:

* Structure and negotiate deals with UK‑based publishers, literary agents, authors, and independent creators
* Manage and execute high‑volume deal flow against specific metrics
* Own content performance and strategic direction for your acquired titles beyond the initial deal
* Identify, initiate, grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners across the UK territory
* Prepare projects for internal support and valuation through the collection of data and preparation of budgets, P&Ls, and proposed deal and creative terms
* Track and communicate deal terms within the organisation and provide the first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
* Work closely with key stakeholders across Audible

Basic Qualifications

* Experience in data analysis and leveraging analytics to make decisions
* Experience building and analysing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organisation
* Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams
* Experience negotiating complex, concurrent, high‑value agreements with an understanding of publishing contracts, rights structures and legal terminology

Preferred Qualifications

* Direct experience in audio content acquisition or licensing audio rights in the UK marketplace
* Proficiency with content management systems, CRM platforms, project management and data visualisation tools, as well as BI platforms
* Demonstrated ability to balance creative editorial judgement with commercial performance analysis
* Experience mentoring or developing junior team members in deal‑making or content evaluation
* Passion for audio storytelling with deep engagement in audiobook and podcast content
