Quality Engineer
Location: Abingdon
Salary: Up to £45, per annum DOE

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team, supporting highly complex, low-volume manufacturing operations. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the highest standards of quality across precision-engineered components and assemblies.
You will play a key part in inspection strategy, CMM programming, and maintaining compliance with industry standards, working closely with engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain inspection processes for complex, low-volume components
2. Program and operate CMM equipment (Hexagon S Chrome with tactile & laser heads)
3. Create and optimise measurement routines using PC-DMIS
4. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
5. Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards
6. Review engineering drawings and specifications to define inspection requirements
7. Drive continuous improvement within quality processes and systems
Skills & Experience Required
8. Proven experience in highly complex, low-volume quality engineering environments
9. Strong knowledge of CMM programming, supported by a certificate of competence issued by the CMM manufacturer or authorised agent
10. Proficiency in PC-DMIS programming (Level 2 minimum)
11. Hands-on experience with Hexagon S Chrome CMMs, including tactile and laser scanning heads
12. Solid understanding of inspection techniques and metrology principles
13. Experience working within ISO quality systems
