Community Payback Supervisor
Location: North London
Salary: £24.47 Limited (Umbrella rate) per hour, £17.59 PAYE exclusive per hour
Overview of the Role: The Probation Service is seeking a dedicated Community Payback Supervisor to supervise offenders serving community sentences. This is an operational role where you will lead and support work groups to ensure the completion of community orders, ensuring tasks are performed to the highest standards while also promoting rehabilitation and community reparation. As part of this role, you may be required to drive service vehicles to transport individuals or equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Service Users: Manage offenders during community-based work placements, ensuring discipline and high performance.
Health & Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, conduct dynamic risk assessments, and complete associated paperwork.
Motivation & Engagement: Use motivational techniques to encourage positive behavior and task completion.
Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for service users and projects.
Training & Development: Provide support and learning opportunities for service users to develop vocational skills, including delivering training assessments.
Induction & Toolbox Talks: Conduct Pre-Placement Unpaid Work Induction and start-of-day ‘toolbox’ talks to ensure safety and task understanding.
Community Engagement: Promote and represent Community Payback within the community, working with colleagues, external agencies, and the public.Experience & Skills Required:
Teamwork & Supervision: Proven experience in team-based roles, demonstrating the ability to supervise and manage people effectively.
Problem-Solving: Experience in addressing issues in a workplace or similar setting.
Communication Skills: Strong written and interpersonal communication skills for liaising with service users, colleagues, and external agencies.
Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of workplace safety, public protection, and risk management.
Driving License: Full driving licence is requiredDesirable Qualifications:
IOSH L3 (or equivalent) and willingness to complete further training.
First Aid training, with a willingness to enhance skills.
Willingness to achieve and maintain Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA).Personal Attributes:
