A well-established automotive manufacturing business is seeking a Buyer to join its purchasing team at a busy production plant near Wolverhampton.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-volume manufacturing environment, supporting both production and new project introduction while driving supplier performance and cost improvements.
The Buyer Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials to support ongoing production and new project activity. You will work closely with engineering, production and project teams to ensure materials are sourced cost-effectively and delivered in line with project timelines.
Key Buyer responsibilities include:
1. Procuring materials at the most cost-effective price while maintaining supply continuity
2. Supporting new product introduction and project timelines from a purchasing perspective
3. Managing supplier performance and contributing to supplier development initiatives
4. Supporting cost reduction and value improvement projects
5. Maintaining supplier information and approved supplier lists
