Key Responsibilities:
Teach dynamic Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities for KS5.
Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on cooking sessions that encourage creativity and build practical skills.
Explore the science of food, from nutrition to sustainable food practices, helping students understand the impact of food on health and the environment.
Lead extracurricular activities such as cooking competitions, food-related showcases, and school events.
Collaborate with the wider teaching team to enhance the learning experience and contribute to the success of the food department.
What We’re Looking For:
A qualified teacher (QTS or working towards) with a degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a relevant field.
Experience teaching food technology at secondary level, with a passion for food and cooking.
Ability to teach both practical cooking techniques and the theoretical aspects of food science.
A creative, enthusiastic approach to teaching with a focus on student engagement and development.
Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and colleagues alike.
