Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is recruiting for Lead C&I Package Engineer to support a high-profile client across UK projects. The Lead C&I Package Engineer will join our team within our Operations business. There is a requirement for hybrid working with 3 days per week being based out of either our Aberdeen or Glasgow office. There will also be a requirement to visit UK based client sites as and when required. Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. LI-Hybrid The Role We are currently seeking Lead C&I Package Engineer responsible for Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) for delivering brownfield EPCm upgrades. The Lead C&I Package Engineer will operate within the core project team, working closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless delivery. They will provide guidance and oversight to discipline Engineers, managing responsibilities and delegating tasks effectively. The key responsibilities of the role will include delegating tasks, managing the C&I packages scope delivery within budget and schedule. Given the prominence of the role in our delivery and level of responsibility and accountability experience in project alignment, performance measurement, risk mitigation, decision-making, team motivation and enhanced project reporting are required. Further benefits include a generous contributory pension scheme, private medical cover, 4x base salary life insurance; all of these and more that can be adapted to suit your own lifestyle Commitment to continued professional development ; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests Global connections ; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Energy Transition Academy ; join a community of experts sharing your knowledge and gaining more exposure to a variety of existing and emerging energy systems – delivered by experts in their field Responsibilities The key objectives for this role are: Project work as Lead C&I Package Engineer for projects as required by the Project Engineering Manager including managing instrument scope, instrument packages., change control, budget and schedule Act as the contact with Project Engineering Managers, Lead C&I Engineer, managing expectations and coordinating design deliverables to meet critical deadlines Provide expert advice on C&I scopes of work including specification, package management system interfaces, field instrumentation, package reviews, BPCS, SIS, F&G system and other Control Equipment Responsible for identifying change and ensuring change is recorded and managed through the Lead C&I Engineer and Project team prior to implementation through the life of the project Work closely with the project planner to agree milestones and monitor progress against them. Provide engineering support to the estimator and cost controller to develop estimates at project commencement and for any potential scope change Facilitate the generation of C&I engineering risks and mitigations for project risk register, (including 3rd part risk registers) and their ongoing management. Ensure that any 3rd party contractors/vendors adhere to the overall project plan throughout the project lifecycle Work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the C&I requirements of projects are effectively and technically delivered to meet timeline and budget Work with the line management over major technical issues and planning but otherwise, must be capable of operating with minimum supervision Shall be able to produce technical reports, and clearly explain complex technical C&I related issues Ensuring compliance with quality management systems, support non-conformances investigations, and implementing lessons learned Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Management of Change Control Process Keep up to date with technical developments, Client, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline. Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary. Qualifications Skills And Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Typically qualified to ISCED Level 6 (Bachelors) in engineering or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Proven experience with working & managing a project team of engineers/designers in C&I, F&G, Automation and Functional Safety teams across a range of industry sectors. on Small, Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-up Proven experience with specification control and safety system upgrades and modifications Proven experience with sizing of flow devices / control valves / relief devices Proven experience with requisition of all types of field instrumentation Proven experience of managing vendors through PO life cycle such as BPCS / SIS / F&G / Field Instrument vendors / other Control Equipment Proven experience with attendance and contributing to HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews and SIL Determination Significant experience in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting activities for the project discipline Conversant with other discipline key project activities and their interaction with/impact on the C&I & Automation scopes TUV FS Eng certified functional safety engineer with proven experience in functional safety life cycle inline with IEC 61508/61511.
