Associate Director / Director – Building Surveying Location: Edinburgh Type: Full Time Salary: Competitive + Benefits
The Role A leading, international built environment consultancy is seeking an Associate Director or Director level Building Surveyor (MRICS) to join its Edinburgh office.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within an established team delivering a full range of professional and project-led Building Surveying services across both public and private sector clients.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth, leading project delivery and managing client relationships, while contributing to the continued success and reputation of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the delivery of projects, commissions and professional instructions from inception through to completion
* Driving business development, securing new projects and frameworks through existing networks and bids
* Managing client relationships and ensuring a high standard of service delivery
* Overseeing project teams to ensure delivery is on time and commercially successful
* Delivering a full range of Building Surveying services including:
o Design and specification
o Contract administration
o Building surveys
o Dilapidations
o Clerk of works
* Providing leadership, mentoring and direction to Building Surveying teams
* Ensuring effective communication across project stakeholders
* Undertaking site visits, inspections and client meetings as required
The Candidate Applicants will be able to demonstrate
* Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent
* MRICS qualification (essential)
* Strong consultancy experience across both professional and project services
* Proven track record in winning work and developing client relationships
* Experience leading projects and managing teams
* Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, NBS and Microsoft Office desirable)
* Experience across sectors such as education, healthcare, local government and private sector work (desirable)
