Overview
Budwood, a part of Polaris Community, is a local residential care provider for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and social and emotional mental health needs. We are looking for passionate Residential Support Workers to join one of our homes in Dorchester. You will be part of a team providing flexible and individual care packages towards all our children and young adults. All staff are trained in Developmental Trauma and therapeutic parenting to support young people effectively.

Hours and Salary
Full-time, permanent position. Salary options based on qualification:
* Unqualified: Base salary £24,604.58, with up to £32,348.58 with sleep-in shifts.
* Qualified (full Diploma Level 4, upgraded from Level 3): Base salary £27,107.08, with up to £34,851.08 with sleep-in shifts.
Shift pattern on rotation: 7 x 24 hour shifts including sleep-ins over a 3 week rotation (09:00 on day 1 to 09:30 the following day).
Main Duties and Requirements
* Experience of working with children and young people and understanding of the issues faced by those in care.
* Flexibility in availability to cover shifts as required.
* Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our young people.
* Establishing and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with our young people.
* Work well as part of a team and be able to accept direction and guidance.
* Encouraging the development of the individual interests of our young people.
* Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People\'s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to work towards upgrading to a Level 4 diploma.
* Have a full UK driving licence and own car as the role involves travel.
* Excellent communication and listening skills; be willing to learn; be able to work well as part of a small team.
* Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check if shortlisted; DBS check paid by Budwood.
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work would be advantageous.
