Due to retirement, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Project Officer at Coops Foyer – supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25.
The role is based at Coops Foyer in Wigan Town Centre and will move to our new Wigan Foyer, also in Wigan Town Centre, when the development is completed next year.
Coops Foyer is accredited with the Foyer Federation, adopting an asset-based approach called Advantaged Thinking, encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big, and fulfill their ambitions.
We want to recruit a Project Officer who is passionate about this work.
What will my working week look like?
Project Officers work on a 3-week rolling rota: Week A: 8am-4pm, Week B: 11am-7pm, Week C: 12noon-8pm. They are part of a multidisciplinary team on site supporting young people who can stay with us for up to 2 years. The role involves some lone working, but only for short periods.
Every day is different; responsibilities include delivering 121 support sessions on life skills, reviewing action plans, supporting medical appointments, contributing to multi-agency meetings, or facilitating group activities as part of the learning programme.
What will I be responsible for?
You will primarily provide key worker support to our young people, working through support and action plans to help them develop the skills needed for independent living.
