Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join our dedicated FM WPS team at Discovery Channel in Chiswick. This role involves delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a high‑profile site with a strong focus on building systems performance, energy efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to and complete help‑desk tasks (planned and reactive) within agreed timeframes, ensuring accurate reporting and handover to the supervisor.
* Carry out first‑line maintenance on all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs and SCADA systems.
* Perform general building fabric repairs and minor plumbing tasks as required.
* Monitor and optimise building systems to ensure efficient operation and continuous improvement with a focus on sustainability.
* Operate and maintain building services systems in line with site procedures and statutory regulations.
* Occasionally support other sites as required.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in multi‑skilled engineering within facilities or building services.
* Recognised qualifications in either electrical or mechanical disciplines with additional skills in general maintenance or building fabric.
* IOSH Working Safely certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to high standards and quality assurance.
* Ability to work effectively within a continental shift rota.
Additional Information
This role is based on a single site with occasional travel to other locations.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check and may be subject to additional pre‑employment vetting depending on the nature of the role.
