Offer description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team within a dynamic hospitality and events environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced, multifaceted business.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, assist with month-end processes, and contribute towards continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Produce monthly management accounts packs
2. Reconcile balance sheet accounts
3. Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts
4. Perform and review bank reconciliations
5. Assist with month-end processes including accruals and prepayments
6. Analyse variances within management accounts and liaise with department heads to improve performance
7. Support the budgeting process and preparation of budget packs
8. Assist with the preparation of year-end working papers across group entities
9. Prepare VAT returns
10. Support monthly payroll processes
11. Assist with year-end routines and audit preparation
12. Contribute to finance-related projects and process improvements
13. Provide cover and support across the wider finance team where required
14. Produce KPI and financial performance reporting

Skills & Experience

15. Minimum 3 years’ experience within an accounts or finance role
16. AAT qualified or equivalent
17. Ideally studying towards ACCA or CIMA
18. Previous management accounts experience is essential
19. Strong systems and IT skills
20. Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
21. Experience with Sage 50 Accounts is desirable
22. Previous hospitality or EPOS system experience would be advantageous
23. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
24. Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
25. Confident communicator, able to build relationships across all levels of the business
26. Self-motivated, reliable, and proactive approach to work
27. Full driving licence and own transport preferred
