Sports Coach – Primary School Support – Cheshire East
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £88.92 – £95 per day (dependent on level of experience)
New Directions Education is seeking enthusiastic Sports Coaches to work across multiple primary schools in Cheshire East.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates passionate about sport, physical education, and supporting children’s learning and development. The role includes supporting with PE lessons, supporting extra-curricular sports activities, and providing general classroom support. Candidates can be full-time or part-time but must be able to commit to the set hours of 8:30am – 4:00pm during term time.
Role Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging learning sessions that encourage participation, skill development, and teamwork.
2. Support pupils in 1:1 or small group activities to develop confidence and physical skills.
3. Assist teachers with general classroom support, including helping with learning activities and resources.
4. Promote positive behaviour and encourage resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset in pupils.
5. Support assessment and tracking of pupil progress in PE and related activities.
6. Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure inclusive participation and opportunities for all pupils.
7. Be flexible, proactive, and adaptable, supporting both classroom and sports activities across the school day.

8. Experience in coaching, physical education, or sport-related activities (desirable).
9. Ability to engage children and inspire participation in physical activity.
10. Strong teamwork and communication skills.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
27. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
28. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
29. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
30. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
31. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
