We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team based in Waterford. This role will suit a QS with strong exposure to M&E works who is comfortable managing the commercial lifecycle of projects, from pre-contract cost planning through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of mechanical and electrical packages, working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams to maintain accurate cost control, contractual compliance and value-driven delivery across live projects. M&E Quantity Surveyor Skills: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role with exposure to mechanical and electrical works Strong understanding of M&E systems and installations within commercial, industrial or mixed-use projects Experience preparing cost plans, bills of quantities and tender documentation for M&E packages Solid knowledge of construction contracts, procurement routes and tendering processes Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management tools such as CostX, Bluebeam or similar Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage risk Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively with technical and site-based teams As a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor: Prepare and manage M&E cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities Support tender analysis and subcontractor procurement for mechanical and electrical packages Monitor project costs, valuations and variations to ensure accurate financial control Prepare interim valuations, cashflow forecasts and cost-to-complete reports Manage and agree M&E subcontractor accounts and applications for payment Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities across the M&E scope Ensure compliance with contract terms, procurement frameworks and client requirements Support project commercial reviews and reporting to senior management Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality Maintain accurate commercial records and support final account agreement The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary in the region of at least €75,000 – plus package.
