We are looking for an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who demonstrates strong leadership in safeguarding and child protection, and has proven experience in effectively managing attendance and behaviour across a school or education setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting student wellbeing, improving engagement, and supporting a positive school culture. Located in the rural community of Westbury, The Eaves is a tranquil setting that offers young people an environment to live, learn and grow. This site brings together education, care and therapeutic support for our young people, providing the backdrop to release their full potential. We support young people with ADHD, ASD, Asperger’s, SLCN, PDA and SEMH and have recently been rated Good by Ofsted.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Head Teacher at Witherslack Group, you’ll work with the Head Teacher to set the vision for the future of the school, ensuring the right people and plans are in place to help young people leave feeling proud of their achievements. You will be resilient and dedicated, and you will lead in safeguarding, attendance, and behaviour across the school. You’ll be supported by the broader management team, specialist colleagues, and a well-resourced school environment to build a rewarding teaching career.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Demonstrate strong leadership in safeguarding and child protection
* Manage attendance and behaviour effectively
* Promote student wellbeing, improve engagement, and support a positive school culture
* Provide leadership and coaching to develop a strong staff team
* Use interpersonal skills to engage and develop staff and pupils

* Previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status
