We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager, to join our growing Energy team.
As a Construction Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing projects. You will oversee the pre-construction phases, develop working methodologies, and ensure efficient spend control for primary substation construction.
Here are some of the tasks you will be involved in...
1. Manage designated project work to ensure successful completion in line with safety, technical, and legislative policies and procedures.
2. Undertake site visits and attend kick-off meetings, monitoring progress and providing regular updates.
3. Liaise and coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to meet key program dates.
4. Execute project execution plans in alignment with the proposed delivery strategy.
5. Demonstrate visual leadership and promote alliancing behaviour, maintaining close and proactive working relationships with the client.
We would love to hear from you if...
You have strong experience within the energy or power sector, ideally with exposure to below-ground installations, and a solid understanding of construction delivery in a regulated environment.
You will have a broad understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, supported by strong forecasting techniques and good knowledge of programme and planning. You will hold SMSTS and have a clear understanding of how to effectively resource and manage teams on site, ensuring people are deployed efficiently and safely.
You will be confident working as the main client interface, with experience engaging with local authorities and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Streetworks and NRSWA experience is essential, along with a good understanding of temporary works and experience operating as, or working closely with, a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC).
You will also bring experience engaging and managing subcontractors, along with the ability to work collaboratively with procurement and the wider supply chain to support effective project delivery. A full UK driving licence is required.
