Position: Category Manager – Fleet (Procurement)
Location: Station Street, Rooty Hill NSW
Salary: $75–$95 per hour + super

About the Fleet Replacement Program
This multi-year program focuses on the strategic renewal of plant and fleet assets essential for council operations, including waste services, parks maintenance, civil works, and emergency response. The scope covers the procurement and lifecycle management of a diverse fleet such as passenger vehicles, heavy plant, trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment.
As Category Manager, you will oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, ensuring vendors meet performance, safety, environmental, and cost standards. The program supports council’s operational readiness, WHS compliance, and environmental sustainability goals, including transitioning to lower-emission fleet options.
Responsibilities include:
* Driving end-to-end tender and contract management
* Leading vendor performance, procurement compliance, and risk management activities aligned with NSW Government standards
* Collaborating across engineering, procurement, and governance teams to develop efficient, strategic contract solutions
* Developing and implementing Contract Management Plans with KPIs, managing supplier relationships, variations, and ongoing evaluations
Key Selection Criteria:
* CIPS or CPSM certification (mandatory)
* Proven success in managing complex tenders and contracts, preferably within fleet operations or government sectors
* Strong knowledge of NSW Government or Local Government procurement frameworks (or willingness to learn)
* Ability to lead negotiations, manage vendor relationships, and align procurement with strategic objectives
