Computer Science Teacher (SEN) – East Grinstead

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective Computer Science lessons at KS2 (Year 6 only), KS3 & KS4
* Plan, prepare, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to students of varying abilities and additional learning needs
* Differentiate learning to support pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all learners
* Monitor pupil progress and provide targeted support to ensure all students reach their full potential
* Use a trauma-informed and restorative approach to behaviour support within the classroom
* Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of the department
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be dynamic, motivated, and passionate about Computer Science education and Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly SEMH. They will:
* Have experience working with, or a strong understanding of, students with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, and other additional learning needs
* Be confident in using positive behaviour management strategies, including de‑escalation techniques and restorative practices
* Understand the barriers to learning faced by students with SEMH and be able to adapt teaching approaches accordingly
* Inspire and engage learners of all abilities through creative and flexible teaching methods
* Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills in challenging contexts
* Show commitment to continuous professional development, particularly within SEN/SEMH education
* Exhibit excellent organisational and communication skills
* Maintain a professional, patient, and proactive approach at all times
