Customer Delivery Driver - Holyhead Extra at Tesco. Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options to work fewer hours (minimum 12) if preferred. Availability windows are set to schedule contracted hours with 3 weeks’ notice. We support flexibility for colleagues, and we encourage you to apply even if your availability doesn’t match the advertised times exactly. Customers are at the heart of everything we do.
As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver to customers’ homes across a broad area and engage with customers daily. This role involves more than driving; it is about helping others and delivering great service with a smile. The role is hands-on, physical, and varied, with support from managers and colleagues back at base when needed. Responsibilities
* Deliver your portion of the customer shopping trip in a safe and organised manner
* Keep the van and trays clean and tidy; leave the work area clean and free of rubbish
* Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process
* Load the van and check van roadworthiness
* Communicate with customers about order changes (short codes, substitutions) and offer refunds if needed
* Handle products carefully and treat deliveries as if they were your own
* Explain substitutions to customers and confirm no extra charge
* Deliver within the customer time slot; call ahead if arriving early or notify the store if running late
Requirements
* Build good relationships with colleagues and provide excellent customer service
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and teammates
* Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and store conditions
* Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations, balancing work and personal life
* Share ideas with Management to improve the store for customers
* Valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
