Job Description:
Salary £39,452.40 per annum (based on 60 hours per week)
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday rota: Approximately 1 in 6 or 1 in 7
Job Purpose
To ensure the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of palletised goods using an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle in line with company and legal standards
* Complete multi-drop pallet deliveries (average 16–18 drops per day, volume dependent)
* Carry out daily vehicle walkaround checks and report defects
* Secure loads safely in accordance with load restraint regulations
* Adhere to drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive regulations
* Maintain accurate delivery and compliance documentation
* Represent the company professionally at customer sites
* Follow route plans while adapting to operational requirements where necessary
Person SpecificationEssential:
* Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
* Valid CPC qualification
* Digital Tachograph Card
* Knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation
* Good time management and organisational skills
Desirable:
* Previous multi-drop delivery experience
* Experience operating curtain-sided vehicles
* Good geographical knowledge of delivery areas
