This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance operations across site.
You will play a vital part in supporting operational continuity, maintaining statutory compliance, and driving service excellence, helping to create a safe and well managed environment for colleagues and site users.
The Role As Deputy FM Manager, you will: Organise and allocate daily maintenance activities in line with safety, compliance, and contractual priorities Monitor progress, productivity, and quality across multiple trades Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance using CAFM systems in accordance with SFG20 requirements Ensure safe systems of work through risk assessments, equipment checks, and adherence to technical specifications Lead, motivate, and support a multi-skilled team in a busy operational environment Manage contractors, ensuring RAMS compliance and high standards of workmanship Act as Approved Person where qualified (HV/LV electrical, pressure systems, confined spaces, working at height, hot works etc.) Deputise for the Contract Manager when required This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage workflow effectively in a secure and regulated environment.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English Recognised qualification as an Approved Electrician (JIB, 17th/18th Edition) or HVAC qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, TCP1, CDGA1, CIGA1, BMP1) or Fire & Security qualification Strong experience managing HVAC systems (experience with Trend or Honeywell BMS highly desirable) Qualification in the Control of Legionella Proven experience leading teams and managing workflow, productivity, and quality Solid technical knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, including fault finding and diagnostics Vetting Requirements Due to the nature of the environment, an Enhanced DBS check will be required.
