Are you ready to take the lead in a dynamic manufacturing environment? At our Glasgow facility, where we design and produce the renowned Waukesha Bearings and Inpro/Seal ranges, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to guide our talented team and drive innovation!
Your Role
As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and play a crucial role in:
* Leading the creation and planning of CNC programs.
* Coordinating tooling and fixturing.
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our industrial processes, materials, and products.
Our facility boasts a wide array of multi-axis machine tools, lathes, mills, grinders, and more. You’ll be working on a high-mix of customized fluid-film bearings, seals, and isolators, serving customers across Europe and beyond!
What You Will Bring
* Experience: A progressive background in precision engineering, managing all aspects of a Manufacturing Engineering Department.
* Technical Skills: Expertise in offline CNC machine programming for complex components, with proficiency in CAD/CAM software like featureCAM, GibbsCAM, or Vericut.
* Leadership: Proven success in team leadership and people management, with the ability to drive change using Lean tools and Continuous Improvement techniques.
* Communication: Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills.
What You Will Do
* Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team to create and plan all CNC programming within set timelines.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing designs.
* Foster a positive and motivating work environment, guiding team development and performance.
* Develop and execute KPIs to drive departmental performance, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met.
* Proactively address issues related to BOM, routing, and CNC programs.
* Specify tooling types and liaise with purchasing on suppliers.
* Encourage continuous improvement through active participation in Lean initiatives.
