We’re looking for an experienced Buyer to join our client’s expanding team in Exeter. This is a key position within the procurement function, responsible for securing the best prices for construction materials in line with project contracts. Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
1. Procuring materials at the most competitive prices
2. Measuring quantities of materials as required
3. Comparing supplier quotes and analysing prices against tender allowances
4. Researching product information and alternative solutions
5. Liaising with site teams and suppliers regarding orders and deliveries
6. Maintaining organised records to prevent invoice queries
7. Managing stock lists and identifying cost-effective reuse opportunities
8. Assisting the accounts team with invoice resolution
The Ideal Candidate
9. Proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the construction industry
10. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
11. Strong negotiation and communication skills
12. Sound understanding of market research and pricing analysis
13. Confident working closely with senior management
