Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation)
Job title: Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Salary: Negotiable based on experience
What you'll be doing:
1. Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA.
2. Coordinate with stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the vehicle control solution and strategy.
3. Support assurance activities in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Engineer.
4. Work with the engineering manager to deliver the vehicle control system, reporting progress via agile tools.
5. Ensure timely delivery of the engineering plan.
6. Guide and instruct on engineering methods to deliver the plan.
7. Collaborate with the Engineering Delivery Team to develop technical solutions and foster team development.
8. Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions from baseline designs.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in developing C&I designs for large-scale systems, ensuring compliance with functional, defence, and industrial standards.
* Managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock, ensuring industrial compliance.
* Authoring or reviewing design documents such as I/O schedules, functional specifications, interface control documents, etc.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science.
Desirable:
* Understanding control system architecture and communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS).
* Experience with IEC 61508 - Functional Safety and supporting safety evidence.
* Experience with manoeuvring systems across industries.
