Education Outreach Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally recognised membership organisation.

Location - Sale, Cheshire, Based. (Free onsite parking and excellent public transport links surrounding) Monday to Friday, full time. Hybrid working week. Minimum 2 days a week in the office.

Established in 1969, the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors [CICES] is an internationally recognised qualifying body and charity established to regulate, educate and train surveyors working within civil engineering and the wider built environment are recruiting a for a brand-new post of Education Outreach Manager reporting to the Development Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a professional body that helps to shape the work and lives of those across the civil engineering profession, working within the built environment. This is a fantastic job working with our members who are involved in wide ranging specialisms in the UK and overseas, including in Hong Kong, Macau, the Americas, KSA and UAE, Singapore and Australia.

Job objective

The Education Outreach Manager will be pivotal in advancing CICES’ mission to inspire and support individuals pursuing careers in civil engineering surveying. This role involves developing and managing educational initiatives, strengthening relationships with academic institutions, and driving outreach to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the profession.

Responsibilities include:

* Being a member of the education panel and help design and implement CICES’ education strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives, including the education outreach programme and STEM strategy.
* Working closely with the CICES membership manager, manage relationships with universities, colleges, and training providers to promote CICES-accredited programmes.
* Working closing with the CICES membership manager support the accreditation process for new educational courses, ensuring they meet CICES’ professional standards.
* Represent CICES on academic boards and committees to advocate for curriculum development in surveying.
* Maintain a strong working knowledge of apprenticeships and the end-point assessment process to support CICES’s involvement and engagement in vocational qualification routes.
* Coordinate school and community outreach programmes, including STEM engagement activities. This to be undertaken with regional committees, the membership manager and development officer.
* Work with the Membership team to increase awareness and uptake of CICES student and graduate membership.
* Represent CICES at industry forums, conferences, and public engagement events to promote careers in civil engineering surveying.
* Collaborate with other professional bodies, including RICS and ICE and Engineering UK, to deliver joint initiatives and advocate for the profession.

This is be undertaken in liaison with the CICES CEO

Essential Criteria:

* Proven experience in education programme development, preferably within a professional institution or industry setting.
* Strong understanding of STEM education and the UK education system.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrable commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Desirable Criteria:

* Knowledge of civil engineering surveying and related disciplines.
* Experience in professional membership organisations or accreditation processes.
* Familiarity with apprenticeship and vocational training pathways in the UK.
* Understanding of STEM education and the education system in our international regions.

* Salary band: £28K - £32k
