Better Decisions Begin with You
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
Your role
Actuarial Graduate in Wealth Solutions: Retirement. You will work on a range of client teams with colleagues who provide advice and support to trustees handling the pension scheme, or the company that provides it. The aim is for you to progress into a trusted advisor for your clients as soon as possible. We’ll develop your technical and consulting skills, including calculations, communication techniques, project management and networking. You’ll continually improve your commercial awareness and professionalism to grow into a successful actuarial consultant.
What Your Day Could Look Like
* Regular assessment of the financial position of pension schemes
* Identifying and implementing ways for trustees and companies to reduce risks (longevity, investment, inflation)
* Carrying out calculations for the pension scheme for the company’s financial accounts and for individual members’ benefits
* Estimating Pension Protection Fund levies
* Day-to-day management of the pension scheme and internal projects
* Building and managing relationships with clients and other scheme stakeholders
* Attending and presenting at client meetings
You’ll work on a range of projects and may be involved in specialist teams such as Risk Settlement, Member Options, or Demographic Horizons analysis.
Your Development
You will be enrolled on Aon’s Launch Programme. It focuses on three core elements:
* Business learning: on-the-job experiences to develop knowledge of your team and solution line
* Centralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, and workshops to build knowledge, confidence and network
* Professional Qualifications: you will be expected to pursue a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, with paid study leave and materials
Your career beyond the Graduate Programme
After the programme, you’ll continue to receive support, complete actuarial qualifications, and receive performance feedback. Opportunities for progression include Graduate Analyst → Associate Consultant → Consultant and beyond. You may specialise in advising trustee clients or corporate pension scheme sponsors and can join specialist teams.
