This is the perfect role if you are looking for an opportunity to start or rekindle your journey into management within the Ambulance Service. Many of our previous Operational Team Leaders have successfully moved on into higher level management posts within the various sections of Ambulance Care and across the wider organisation, so if you are ambitious to progress and looking for that opportunity to take the first step on the WAST career development path, this is the role for you.
The posts are available as a permanent post or a secondment. You must be qualified as an ACA, ACA2, EMT or Paramedic to apply and although C1 licencing is desirable, it is not essential and support and funding will be provided for you to obtain your C1 licence whilst employed in this role.
In additional to the duties specific to the role, you will be required to work operationally as either an ACA or ACA2 (based on your skill/qualification level). If trained as an ACA only you will be provided the opportunity to complete additional training modules to gain the ACA2 qualification.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities and duties for role are as follows:
* Lead, support & supervise a team of ACA1 and ACA2
* Ensuring operational efficiency and high service standards within the team
* Ensure compliance with quality standards and achievement of key performance indicators
* Act as a Role Model to other operational staff
* Develop your team through PDAR and 1:1s to support their personal development
* Ensure patients get the best possible experience

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Level 3 Certificate in Ambulance Patient Care - Non-Urgent Care Services or equivalent
* ILM Level 4 or equivalent relevant managerial experience.
* Evidence of continual professional development
* Full UK Driving Licence including B1, (with no more than three endorsement points) and no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
* uccessful completion of the oneweek ACA driving programme or equivalent
* Working knowledge of operational software, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Informatics and resource management systems
Desirable criteria
* Training Qualification (for example Instructional Methods)
* IOSH Health & Safety or equivalent
* Experience of developing and delivering training.
* Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* C1 classification on driving licence
* Knowledge of NHS Putting Things Right (PTR) process.
