About the Role
A worldwide manufacturer of commercial laundry equipment is seeking additional field engineers to undertake service, breakdown and fault‑finding on a wide range of commercial laundry appliances and equipment including washers, dryers and ironers. The role will be based from home with travel to client premises such as care homes, universities, hotels and other commercial sites.

* Central Scotland – East Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Cumbernaul, Dunfermline
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on‑site service, break‑down and fault‑finding on commercial laundry equipment.
* Carry out preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure all visits meet company and client expectations.
* Use multi‑meter and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
* Maintain accurate service records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work efficiently from home, travelling door‑to‑door with a company van and necessary tools.
Required Experience & Skills
* Field Service Engineer with electro‑mechanical, gas and electrical experience.
* Ability to use a multi‑meter.
* Working knowledge of laundry equipment and domestic appliances – white goods engineer, domestic appliance engineer, gas engineer or commercial laundry engineer.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Gas ACS qualification desirable (training can be provided after probation).
* Ability to work to PPM schedules and prior experience in service welding / maintenance is an asset.
* Electrical competence, including dead‑testing and safe isolation.
Advantageous Experience
* Experience with commercial laundry brands such as Miele, Electrolux, Girbau, JLA.
* Experience with domestic appliance brands such as Beko, Whirlpool, Haier, Bosch, Fisher Paykel, Hotpoint, Smeg, etc.
Hours & Remuneration
* Monday to Friday – 42.5 hours per week.
* Standby rota – 1 in 4 weekends, approx £4,000–£6,000 extra per annum.
* Paid travel – door‑to‑door.
* Overtime: paid at x1.5 Mon‑Sat and x2 for Sundays.
* Company van (automatic, fully equipped, available for personal use).
* Uniform, tools, phone, PDA provided.
* 28 days holiday + bank holidays.
* Private health care scheme and company pension scheme.
* Bonus scheme based on first‑time fix.
Compensation Package
* Basic salary £35,000–£38,000 (gas).
* Standby pay £50 per day (1 in 4 weekends) – approx £4,000–£6,000 extra per year if called out.
* Bonus: approx £2,000 monthly performance‑based (details to be discussed).
* Overtime payments – paid at x1.5 Mon‑Sat and x2 Sundays.
