We currently have a vacancy for a Night Shift Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfilment Center (FC), reporting into the BWU2 WHS Manager. It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety, and can function as a role model and engage professionally with the entire FC workforce.
Key job responsibilities
* Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through audits
* Facilitate incident investigation process
* Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
* Enter Safety Incident Information in internal database promptly
* Perform safety observations & audits
* Coach others (e.g., Area Managers) to complete their safety responsibilities
* Possibly have additional responsibilities for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety activities depending on the business unit and location
* Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
*This is an hourly role based on shift patterns: Wednesday to Saturday, 6.00pm to 4.00am. Must be willing to rotate shifts based on business need.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or Cert IV in WHS
* 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
* Ability to work 40 hours/week and overtime as required
