Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:
Steering Integration Engineer - £27.21/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire - 9 Months (Potential for yearly renewal)
Duties:

As a Steering Integration Engineer, you will be supporting a Lead Engineer in co-ordinating the design, development, testing and introduction of the complete software and functionality of the steering system. You will be responsible for completing test work, supporting supplier reviews, and planning the delivery of steering calibrations. The role involves driving the vehicles with a direct hands-on approach to the steering assessment, working with the supplier, and interacting with other systems and attributes on the vehicle.
You will work closely with both the supplier and internal teams such as Vehicle Dynamics, ADAS, Networks and Diagnostics to co-ordinate the design, development, testing, commodity plan and introduction of Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) software and functionality into existing and new vehicles.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Work closely with a Lead Engineer to deliver EPAS Power Pack system functionality to the required timings and gateways.
- Drive the vehicles with the development software to evaluate and debug issues to enable a road release onto public roads, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to vehicle test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues.
- Work closely with vehicle attribute teams and the EPAS supplier to develop software functionality and calibrations to achieve targets.
- Collaborate with ADAS lateral motion systems to develop system controls.
- Debug and investigate customer warranty issues.
- Liaise with the Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Steering system engineers, and diagnostic engineers to develop test cases.
- Work with the ODX/OTX engineers to design and develop structured diagnostic flows, and to test the diagnostic flows on the HiL rig.
Skills:
- Prior Automotive delivery experience - componet or systems.
- Basic understanding of mechatronic systems such as EPAS, Brakes or active suspension.
- Technical project delivery to timing and budget.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Experience of supplier management and working in cross-functional teams
- Basic level of software diagnostics
- Knowledge of steering system componentry and network
- Problem solving experience (fault debugging techniques would be a plus)
- Experience with network analysers such as Vector, ETAS or Intrepid tools
- Vehicle Dynamics/NVH appreciation or experience
- Experience in Agile and JIRA
Education:
- Educated to at least degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Full UK driving licence required

This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
