The WestSuffolk Alliance (WSA) brings together local teams and organisations to improvethe health and wellbeing outcomes for the people of west Suffolk. The WSAis also a sub-committee of the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated careBoard, with delegated responsibility for commissioning community healthservices, primary care and medicines optimisation.

The successful candidate will have experience at a seniorlevel with regards to transforming health and care services, achieving changethrough partnership and leading a team. Main duties of the job
The Deputy Alliance Directors role will be to
the commissioning and transformation of community health services in West Suffolk
the delivery of the wider prevention and partnership goals (supported by the Head of Alliance Development)
good alliance governance for decision making and the development and implementation of the alliance delivery plan.
a key member of the West Suffolk leadership community, deputising for the Alliance Director; work closely with NHS Trusts, councils, primary care, community leaders and the VCSFE sector; work closely with colleagues across SNEE ICS.

Job responsibilities
Thepost holder will provide direct leadership to the commissioning, performance, and contracting functions, ensuring delivery of all statutory requirements, andensure that expert advice is provided to the other functions of theorganisation and support the delivery of its strategic objectives andoperational plans.
Transformation,Prevention and Partnership
1.Lead the WSA communitytransformation agenda, including leadership of goals in the stay well, age welland die well domains
2.Enable the Head of AllianceDevelopment, lead the delivery of the wider prevention partnership goalsincluding those within the be well, feel well, start well and locality domains
personally leadto the delivery of specific major service change projects.
4.Champion anddrive innovation and development within Alliance health and well being agenda.
5.Work closely withthe Future Systems Partnership to ensure strategic development of capacity andpathways in a community setting to support the FSP vision.
Commissioning
1.Commission community healthservices delegated to WSA. This willinclude collaborating with leaders inthe Ipswich and East Suffolk, Nort East Essex alliance and ICS strategic programmesand the postholder holding a portfolio for strategic lead for agreed areas ofcommunity services strategy across the ICS.
2.Contribute todemand planning for the ICB in conjunction with Business Intelligence andPublic Health leads, and with regard to the joint strategic needs assessmentsto inform service development and procurement initiatives appropriately.
3.Providespecialist/ expert advice, including where expert opinion may differ.
4.Support AllianceDirector to ensure commissioning and delivery of the Better Care Fund andDischarge Funding with Suffolk County Council.

Alliance Governance and development
1. Supportthe Alliance Director to ensure the ICS strategic goals are translated intomeasurable performance indicators that improve outcomes for patients.
2. Continue thedevelopment of close partnership working with cire alliance members.
3.With the head ofalliance development, ensure that business planning and monitoring mechanismsare fully developed and implemented.
4.Lead on thedevelopment of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with national andcorporate policies and procedures.
5.Exercisedelegated authority on behalf of the Director lead for POD to resolveday-to-day management issues with providers.
