Band 7 - Diabetes Specialist Nurse. x2 Full-time roles (37.5 hours per week). Job share/part-time may be considered. Salary £53,751 - £60,651 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata. Based at Beckenham Beacon and sites across Bromley, working with Bromley Healthcare.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the multidisciplinary Diabetes Service with Bromley Healthcare. It is suitable for someone with an enthusiasm for diabetes and a wish to extend their expertise in this field. The post will include responsibility for a mixed caseload including people with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. You will need to be confident in delivering education to groups and, ideally, have experience of structured education programmes such as DESMOND or DAFNE. You will be involved in the development of diabetes services within the Bromley Healthcare Diabetes Service. A patient-centred approach with empathy and sensitivity, good communication, and a professional attitude are essential. You will need excellent clinical, organisational, IT and communication skills.

Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive, evidence-based diabetes care for people with diabetes and healthcare professionals within the Bromley area.
* Work as a highly skilled independent practitioner, implementing and recommending treatment based on expert clinical assessment.
* Provide comprehensive, evidence-based, highly specialist clinical care, training and consultancy to both people with diabetes and other professionals. Provide advice, support and education to GP practices, and deliver care in settings including the diabetes centre, patient homes, and nursing homes.
* Contribute to the development of diabetes services across provider boundaries.
Qualifications and Skills
* Confidence in delivering education to groups; experience with structured education programmes (e.g., DESMOND/DAFNE) preferred.
* Excellent clinical, organisational, IT and communication skills.
* Empathy and sensitivity to patient needs; able to maintain a friendly, polite and professional attitude.
