The Role
Are you a compassionate individual ready to make a difference? We are looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our small, supportive team. In this role, you will create a safe and inclusive learning environment for pupils with complex needs.
Your mission will be to engage children who may present with challenging behaviours, helping them feel included and supported within our school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils
* Assist in delivering engaging lessons aligned with curriculum expectations
* Build positive relationships with pupils to foster engagement and learning
* Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with school staff
* Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including school trips
* Support lesson planning and classroom preparation
* Implement attachment and trauma-informed strategies for social and emotional support
* Participate in school events and extracurricular activities
Qualifications and Skills
* A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma)
* Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
* Strong understanding of curriculum delivery and pupil support
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A proactive and flexible approach to work
