About The Role
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a committed, professional, and customer focused Security Officer to become an integral part of our 24 hour Security Team.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our staff, patients, visitors, and property across the Trust's sites, including hospital wards, car parks, and outlying buildings. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a healthcare environment where your contribution directly supports patient care and staff wellbeing.

Shift Information
* Standard shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off.
* 12-hour shifts.
* Shift pattern is currently under review and may be subject to change.
* Flexibility is essential, including the ability to:
o Work across various hospital sites.
o Cover shifts during periods of annual leave and staff absence.
o Adapt to operational requirements as needed.
Main duties
* Maintain a safe and secure environment across Trust premises.
* Conduct routine patrols of hospital wards, grounds, and external facilities.
* Respond effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
* Monitor and operate CCTV systems in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Manage access control and assist with investigations when required.
* Provide a visible and reassuring security presence for staff, patients, and visitors.
* Deliver excellent customer service and support across all areas of the Trust.
Essential Person Specifications
* A valid SIA Door Supervisor/Front Line Licence (Level 2).
* A valid SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence (PSS).
* Previous experience working within a security environment.
* Proven customer facing experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
* Good observational, reporting, and problem solving skills.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility is essential, including the ability to:
o Work across various hospital sites.
o Cover shifts during periods of annual leave and staff absence.
o Adapt to operational requirements as needed.
