A leading heritage location is looking for a dedicated Visitor Experience Manager based in Waddesdon, Aylesbury.
This role involves leading and inspiring the visitor experience team to deliver exceptional service and memorable experiences. Key responsibilities include:
* Operational Management:
* Overseeing visitor experience and ensuring high-quality service.
* Supporting the Assistant Visitor Manager (AVEM) with presentation standards and operational compliance.
* Developing staffing plans aligned with budget and needs.
* Resolving visitor feedback and complaints efficiently.
* Implementing best practices and industry benchmarks.
* Managing daily tours and walks, ensuring quality.
* Coordinating resources and spaces across teams.
* Leading and supporting guides and volunteers.
* Developing accessible and revenue-generating engagement programs.
* Tailoring tours to visitor and group preferences.
* People Management:
* Line managing AVEM and supporting their development.
* Leading, motivating, and coaching staff and volunteers.
* Recruiting and training teams to engage with the house and its history.
* Conducting visitor care training and providing ongoing development.
* Enhancing the volunteering program.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of operational management experience, preferably within a heritage or museum setting. You should be capable of motivating and leading teams to deliver exceptional service, engaging visitors to create inspiring experiences. Excellent communication skills are essential for managing staff and volunteers effectively, ensuring high standards of visitor care. You are proactive, with a keen eye for improving operations and accessibility, while ensuring seamless, high-quality service.
