Role Overview
The Bid Manager will oversee the full bid lifecycle, typically managing one or two bids at a time, from conception to submission. This role offers stability, flexibility, and a supportive team environment.
Key Duties
1. Project managing tenders from initial assessment, including bid/no bid qualification, to drafting, submission, preparing teams for presentations, and post-submission feedback and reporting across both private and public sectors.
2. Identifying winning themes that demonstrate understanding of client needs and differentiate the firm from competitors.
3. Generating high-quality, compelling, clear, and compliant written responses and marketing materials.
4. Developing and maintaining a library of precedent texts for tenders, including capturing deal/transaction information for future bids.
5. Managing internal stakeholders throughout the tender process.
6. Researching procurement cycles and engaging with procurement professionals within target and key client organizations to contribute to the firm’s sales pipeline.
7. Providing input to lessons learned from previous submissions.
Experience & Skills Required
1. Bid Manager / Bid Writer experience.
2. Background in Legal or other Professional Services preferred.
3. Ability to manage the entire bid process collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Willingness to travel to Liverpool up to 2-3 days a week and for occasional site visits.
