Job Overview

Role: Careers Adviser (0.2 FTE) with potential for additional hours as a Cover Leader

Contract type: Permanent

Time Commitment: 16 hours per week *

The role is term-time only, plus an additional 30 hours per annum. These additional hours are to be worked:

* During the summer holidays around GCSE results day,
* To support occasional evening events (agreed in advance at the start of each academic year),
* And for other duties as required.

The specific working pattern is flexible and will be agreed with the successful candidate

* This role is for the equivalent of two days per week; however, if you are seeking a full-time position, please contact us before applying, as we may be able to offer the opportunity to apply for a hybrid role incorporating a Cover Leader vacancy.

Salary Band / Range

Band E SCP 12 – 17 FTE £27,711 – £30,060 (if not qualified to Level 6 Diploma). Actual Salary - £10,305 - £11,178

Further Salary Information

Band F SCP 19 – 23 FTE £31,067 - £33,366 (if qualified to Level 6 Diploma). Actual Salary £11,553 - £12,408

* If you are applying for this role without the required qualification, you will need to obtain a Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development within 18 months of starting. We will cover the cost of the qualification; however, it must be completed in your own time. Upon successful completion, your salary will be adjusted to the advertised rate for those with the qualification.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Careers Adviser to support the Head of Personal Development and Careers Lead in delivering high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students raise their aspirations, make informed decisions, and achieve successful post-16 transitions.
