Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. This role involves promoting tranScrip’s specialist services—such as regulatory consulting, clinical development, and pharmacovigilance—while building strong client relationships and managing the full business development lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation. In addition, the role includes input into inside sales, supporting effective outreach campaigns, helping ensure efficient lead management and tracking.
Key Responsibilities
General
* Serves as the face of tranScrip, representing the company’s culture, vision, mission and values.
* Builds relationships across internal teams to guide sustainable, long-term growth.
* Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture across BD team.

Business Development
* Proactively identify and develop new client relationships within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences sectors.
* Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, pitching, proposal development, and contract closure.
* Understand client needs and effectively communicate how the company’s services provide solutions.
* Working with BD Operations, Project Delivery and SMEs, lead the Proposal and Contract Review and Sign Off, including project scoping, proposal and pricing development
* Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and cross-selling opportunities.
* Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
* Collaborate closely with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth project handovers and client satisfaction
* Drive increasing business revenue, identifying and developing new opportunities and building and expanding the presence of the tranScrip brand.
* Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients.
* Where required support coordination and management of inside sales activities, ensuring alignment with the broader business development strategy.
Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, business administration, marketing).
* Proven experience in business development within pharmaceutical sector organisation is essential (Pharma Outsourcing/Recruitment) Additional experience in the broader pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous.
* Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships, driving business growth, and meeting revenue targets.
* Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure one team approach to account management
* Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Strategic and analytic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
* Willingness to travel as needed.
