What we’re looking for…
As our Head of Business Reporting, Planning and Analysis you will play a vital and key role in delivering the business’ strategic plans.
Responsible for a number of key finance function led processes you will bring your experience of supporting the creation of business’ strategy and financial plans, deliver in-year financial performance vs. budget and report the business’ results to both the AG Barr Board and the external stakeholder community.
You will have leadership experience to take responsibility for driving forward the Finance function’s agenda around automation, analytics, data and insight. An exciting opportunity with a broad range of responsibilities to be executed through leading a team of four, including three qualified accountants.
Your responsibilities will include...
Business Performance Management
* Be the process owner for the business performance management process ensuring all business requirements around period close, in-year forecast and budgeting are met accurately, on time, in full;
* Manage the overall business’ financial performance and results to deliver targeted results at both interims and the full year;
* Provide high quality performance & results reporting to the CEO, CFO, EXCO and AG Barr Board - concise & understandable; insightful and action orientated; professional;
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide analysis on business performance in terms of metrics used both internally (by the business) and externally (by stakeholders who track our business). Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions;
* Be responsible for the management of the balance sheet and cash flow, providing accurately, timely and insightful reporting and analysis which drives deep understanding and the right interventions;
PLC Reporting & Investor Relations
* Lead preparation of the business’ annual strategic report, results presentation and supporting information used by CEO and CFO at results time (Interim & Final);
* Support the Corporate Finance Director, CFO and CEO deliver the business’ Investor Relations calendar across the year. This will involve relevant planning activities, content development (to be used for the investor community) and liaison with external stakeholders (e.g. Brokers);
* Lead a number of relevant business planning processes connected with statutory reporting including impairment and viability reviews.
Business Planning
* Support the Corporate Finance Director with leadership of the business’ strategic planning process (IBP). Be responsible for all total business financial modelling (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, capital allocation) and preparation of the strategic plan for presentation to the Board;
* Lead the process to develop and deliver the business’ capital allocation strategy including relevant planning, reporting and analysis activities.
Projects
* Support the Corporate Finance Director and CFO on M&A. This is expected to include activities across the M&A cycle - identification, transaction, integration.
* Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and modelling to support special projects and management requests, particularly around M&A.
Systems & Tools
* Lead improvement in finance function capability through automation (creating capacity within existing resources) and by using existing and / or new tools to improve processes and outputs. This applies to both Corporate and Business Partnering sides of the function;
* Overall ownership of the management accounting chart of accounts structure ensuring the underlying processes are effective (maintained, robust, consistent);
What you’ll bring...
Fully qualified accountant (ICAS / ACA / CIMA)
Significant post qualification experience (7+ years preferable ) in the areas of financial performance reporting, planning & analysis. Good understanding of PLC reporting requirements
Excellent commercial acumen with a developed ability to convey key messages to senior stakeholders in both verbal and written form
Experience of building and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors
Experience of people leadership and team building
Working knowledge of ERP systems (AGB use JD Edwards)
