Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee catering operations serving 1,200+ pupils and staff, including the 6th form café and hospitality services.
* Lead and develop a large team, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and hygiene.
* Manage logistics such as budgeting, stock control, supplier negotiations, meal planning, and allergen management.
* Coordinate with school administration for events, functions, and external hospitality.
* Ensure operational excellence, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain food safety and quality standards (HACCP).
* Oversee hospitality and lettings, ensuring seamless external event experiences.
* Drive continuous improvement to adapt and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
Requirements:
* Must hold a valid driver’s license.
* Proven experience as a General Manager or Deputy in high-volume, quality-focused environments.
* Experience in managing, training, and supporting large teams.
* Financial acumen, budget management, and commercial performance skills.
* Strong coaching, delegation, and influencing abilities.
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Solution-oriented mindset to challenges and opportunities.
* Strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
