Our training team at Autism Unlimited believes that equipping our colleagues with the right skills and knowledge is essential to providing the best support for the people we support. Our dedicated team plays a key role in delivering high-quality training that empowers our colleagues to provide care and education, enabling our people to live fulfilling lives.
We are currently looking for a Trainer to join us on a part-time basis. This role involves delivering engaging workshops focused on behaviour support and proactive strategies to help colleagues understand and respond to the diverse needs of autistic individuals.

Are you enthusiastic about learning and have the skills to teach and inspire others? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
A day in the life of a Trainer would include:
1. Delivering workshops to various groups of frontline staff across the charity from adult services, school, and further education on Team Teach and positive behaviour methods.
2. Providing guidance on proactive and de-escalation techniques to ensure individuals are supported safely and respectfully.
3. Helping colleagues understand that all behaviour is a form of communication and providing strategies to respond effectively.
4. Encouraging skill development and confidence in staff when working with autistic individuals.
Our ideal candidate will have:
1. A background in training delivery within the care or education sector.
2. Knowledge of positive behaviour support, communication strategies, and autism-specific approaches.
3. Confidence in delivering engaging and practical training sessions.
4. Previous knowledge of Team Teach is beneficial but not essential.
In addition to the feel-good factor, other reasons to join us include…
1. "Refer a friend" scheme - earn £400 per person you successfully refer!
2. Overtime paid at competitive rates.
3. Comprehensive training programme consisting of 12 weeks of in-house, on-site, and online training, accompanied by shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
4. The opportunity to join our neurodiversity group led by colleagues to ensure the voice of neurodiverse people remains central to our thinking and decision-making.
5. Annual leave increases with each service year – up to 33 days!
6. Exclusive access to our employee portal, home to discounts on days out and hundreds of high street and online stores.
7. Health cashback plan to receive money back for dental, optical, and other treatments.
8. Salary sacrifice schemes for various electrical devices, bikes, and many more.
9. A 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family, and legal information.
10. The opportunity to continue your professional development with accredited qualifications once you've passed your probation period.
11. We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support if you experience issues related to your mental health.
