Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Driver & Yard Operative to work for a company in Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Role: Driver & Yard Operative
Salary: £32,000
Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Hours: 48 hours per week
Key Responsibilities of the Driver & Yard Operative:
1. Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard and workshop
2. Prepare, clean and store tools, equipment and lifting gear
3. Load and unload deliveries, stock and materials
4. Drive company vehicles (including flatbeds) when required
5. Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks
6. Support mechanical installation and maintenance work
7. Check inventory against the virtual yard system
8. Complete job sheets and log work via EasyBOP
9. Follow all health & safety policies, procedures and CDM requirements
10. Report defects, near misses, incidents and missing equipment
About you:
11. Full UK manual driving licence (clean)
12. Experience in a yard, workshop or similar operational environment
13. Strong understanding of health & safety practices
14. Practical, hands-on and physically capable
15. Reliable, punctual and well organised
16. Mechanical or electrical knowledge (desirable)
17. Comfortable using tools, lifting equipment and manual handling aids
18. Able to follow instructions and safe systems of work
19. Team player with a positive, proactive attitude
20. Committed to maintaining high safety and compliance standards
