We are recruiting for a well-known organisation who specialises in finding suitable amodation for vulnerable and at-risk individuals, focusing on people experiencing homelessness, who may also have mental health issues or drug/alcohol dependencies. We are seeking dedicated andpassionate individuals to join the Gloucestershire Homeless Outreach Team. You will be working alongside an experienced team member, so you won’t be alone in the field. The main office is located in Gloucester, just across the road from the train station, making it easily accessible. A DBS will be required for this role.
Please note this is not a personal care role and you will require relevant experience.
Your new role
As an Outreach Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialist outreach support to adults with a history of rough sleeping across both rural and urban areas of Gloucestershire, including Gloucester and Cheltenham.
- Identify and build relationships with people who are rough sleeping in Gloucestershire, using outreach sessions and regular visits to agencies/venues visited by people who are rough sleeping.
-plete needs and risk assessments for clients, leading to the delivery of support plans which meet individual client needs.
- Give clients advice and information to provide an enabling service so that they can access appropriate services and amodation.
- Undertake rostered outreach sessions, including early morning, evenings, and weekends.
- Maintain accurate and updated client records.
This position is hours, working 5 days a week on a rota.
What you'll need to succeed
You should possess empathy and understanding of the needs of the clients, along with amitment to equality of opportunity. An understanding of the causes of homelessness and social exclusion, as well as approaches to address and prevent rough sleeping, is crucial. Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills are required, along with the ability to undertake Needs Assessment and Planning for people withplex social needs. To be put forward for this role, you must possess a valid UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and a valid DBS.
