We are currently seeking an organised, customer-focused Plant Hire Controller to join our Plant and Transport team in Levenshulme. As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in managing hire enquiries, coordinating equipment bookings, and delivering excellent service. Responsibilities Customer Service: Responding to customer enquiries about hire, providing quotes, and resolving issues or complaints. Order Management: Processing new hire requests, managing existing orders, and coordinating collections. Equipment Coordination: Ensuring the right equipment is available, checking stock levels, and liaising with the workshop for maintenance. Administrative Tasks: Maintaining accurate records of hires, processing invoice queries, and assisting with stock control. Skills and Experience Previous experience in a hire desk or customer service environment (plant/tool hire experience desirable) Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confident using hire software or CRM systems (e.g., Syrinx, Insphire) Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload Knowledge of construction/plant/tool equipment is advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Company Information OCU leads the way in end-to-end infrastructure engineering in the utilities, digital, and energy markets, specialising in safely and efficiently delivering complex client requirements.
