Job Description:
Legal Counsel – Private Equity | London | 4–6 PQE
We are working with a well-regarded international infrastructure investment firm to find a high-calibre Legal Counsel to join their growing legal team in London.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing platform at a key inflection point in its growth. The company has built an impressive portfolio across Europe and North America and is now investing in the expansion of its legal function to support its active deal pipeline and growing operations.
About You:
You will be a UK-qualified lawyer with 4–6 years’ PQE, a strong academic background, and M&A or private equity experience gained at a leading law firm. In-house or secondment experience is advantageous. You’ll thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and bring commercial judgement, drive, and a collaborative mindset.
You’ll be someone who is comfortable working autonomously while engaging confidently with internal stakeholders at all levels, including investment professionals and senior leadership. If you're looking for a visible, strategic role in a respected and growing investment platform, this is an outstanding opportunity.
The Role:
Reporting to the Legal Director, you’ll play a critical role in supporting deal execution and the development of the legal function. Responsibilities will include:
* Reviewing and guiding on key transaction documents (SPAs, SHAs, MIP terms) and legal due diligence, in collaboration with external counsel
* Acting as the primary legal reviewer for internal deal documents (e.g. MoUs, NBOs)
* Advising the investment team and CIO on material legal risks
* Supporting on commercial contracts (e.g. supplier agreements, recruiter terms) and managing outsourced legal resource for NDAs, engagement letters, etc.
* Liaising with Compliance and other support functions on cross-functional matters
* Supporting legal training and monitoring legal developments relevant to the business and portfolio
